NEWARK’S DIONISIO SIGNS WITH NJIT SOCCER
Forward Played For National No. 1 St. Benedict’s

NEWARK, N.J.André Dionisio of Newark has signed a national letter of intent to continue his soccer career at New Jersey Institute of Technology, NJIT head coach Pedro Lopes announced today.

Dionisio won four consecutive state championships playing for nationally-known St. Benedict’s Prep of Newark. The Grey Bees were ranked No. 1 in the nation in the final poll of 2001. A 5-foot-11 forward, Dionisio also was a member of the Brick City Player Development Academy. The son of Lester and Deusamar Cole of Chestnut Street, he intends to major in civil engineering.

“André is a winner,” said Lopes, a 1990 graduate of St. Benedict’s. “His high school is considered the top program in New Jersey and every year competes for the top ranking in the country. He has a lot of experience playing at a high level and will be looked upon to make an immediate impact on our team.”

Dionisio joins the following national letter of intent signees in NJIT’s Class of 2008:
