Gross Scores First Career Goal For Highlanders

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The New Jersey Institute of Technology nearly erased a 3-0 halftime deficit in its 3-2 nonconference loss to host Bucknell University on Wednesday.

Scott Visnic scored twice for Bucknell (1-4-1) in the span of 78 seconds early in the second half. The Bison added a 37th-minute tally to take its 3-0 lead into the lockerroom. The Highlanders (0-7) got on the board at 58:07 on Eddie Romero’s (Laurel, DE/Sussex Central) breakaway goal.

Senior defender Adam Gross (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) scored his first career goal on a penalty kick with 9:32 left in regulation, but his team could get no closer. NJIT received five saves from freshman goalkeeper Ryan Sutherland (Harrisville, RI/Burrilville) .
